Dr. Ernest Debakey Foundation
The late Dr. Ernest DeBakey is a 2001 Hall of Fame Honoree. His general surgery practice in South Alabama spanned six decades and over 40,000 surgical procedures. He was recognized by peers as one of the preeminent general surgeons in the Southeast. During his life, and later through his memorial foundation, millions of dollars have been contributed to worthwhile healthcare causes including scholarships for residents and nurses.

MPT, based in Birmingham, AL, is a leading global provider of capital to hospitals, and one of the largest non-governmental owners of hospitals in the world. CEO Ed Aldag is committed to making a positive difference in communities in which they operate, and encourage tenant operators to run all aspects of operations with environmental and social sustainability in mind. Noland Health Services
Since AHHOF’s beginning in 1998, Noland Health Services has provided AHHOF invaluable support. On a pro-bono basis, NHS has contributed office and administrative assistance, storage space, meeting rooms, and catering for special luncheon events. Three Lloyd Noland Hospital healthcare pillars have been inducted into the Alabama Healthcare Hall of Fame including Dr. Lloyd Noland*, Dr. Leon C. Hamrick*, and Administrator Gary M. Glasscock FACHE. Noland Health Services CEO, Barbara Estep, serves on AHHOF’s board. Today’s company specializes in senior living communities, specialty hospitals, and case management.
Wayne Finley, MD, PhD
For many generations Alabama natives Dr. Sara Crews and Dr. Wayne Finley were pioneers in Alabama Healthcare, as well as the Alabama Healthcare Hall of Fame. At UAB’s Laboratory of Medical Genetics, the couple brought unique distinction to UAB for clinical evaluations, genetic counseling, and unparalleled education opportunities for students. For decades Dr. Wayne Finley has served AHHOF as a charter board member, Board Chairman, and benefactor. AHHOF’s Scholar’s Program was named the Finley Scholars’ program in the couple’s honor.
Blue Cross/Blue Shield Alabama
Corporate neighbor, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Alabama, is the largest provider of healthcare benefits in the state. The company provides coverage to over 2 million residents and employs over 3,300.
